YAN-BOY

Yan Boy is a jewellery brand rooted in representing the functional absence of objects, exploring the evolution of women's pockets through brooches and filling a gap in the everyday brooch category. By mimicking the silhouette of a pocket, I transform it into a surreal wearable form that questions society’s expectations of functional objects, much like the long-standing absence of real pockets in womenswear. By playing with the possibilities between pockets and jewellery, Yan Boy gives pockets new wearability, turning non-functional ones into playful brooches and inviting people into a dialogue between reality and fantasy:
